My latest obsession is canning...Delores got me started on pickles, then I dragged my kids out to the wildlife refuge in Ridgefield to pick blackberries (legal?). Made jam. Went to my aunt's and picked blueberries, made blueberry/blackberry syrup. Got a box of peaches...a LOT of work...but, I think they turned out. Friday, mom and I are doing tomatoes. The BEST part is, I posted a want ad on craigslist for that I wanted free jars...and I got a bunch! Here's my peaches, aren't they pretty?

Eyrn, I didn't even know you were on here until I saw you on Shannon's page. Then I go to your page and I am on your favorite's page. Yippy Skippy. I LOVE CANNING. I made about 45 jars of homemade applesauce from my trees in my yard in Camas (sniff sniff) last year and it was to die for. I became totally spoiled and can't have regular applesuace now. That darn Delores. You have to get together with Delores and learn how to make applesauce. Jonagold is the best. I want to can with you :-(
